8   Cleaning and Maintenance
The following hazards may arise during maintenance work:
– risk to health from inhaling solvent vapors,
– use of unsuitable tools and aids.
A skilled person must ensure that the device is checked for being in a reliable state after
maintenance work is completed.
8.2.2   Safety instructions
DANGER
Incorrect maintenance/repair!
Danger to life and equipment damage.
4 Only a WAGNER service center or a suitably trained person may carry out repairs and
replace parts.
4 Use only WAGNER original spare parts and accessories.
4 Only repair and replace parts that are listed in the spare parts chapter and that are
assigned to the device.
4 Before all work on the device and in the event of work interruptions:
4 Relieve the pressure from the spray gun, product hoses and all devices.
4 Secure the spray gun against actuation.
4 Switch off the energy and compressed air supply.
4 Disconnect the control unit from the mains.
4 Observe the operating and service manual for all work.
Prior to maintenance
4 Flush and clean the system according to chapter Cleaning and flushing the device
[8 50].
After maintenance
1. Carry out safety checks in accordance with chapter Safety Checks and Maintenance
Intervals [8 51].
2. Put the system into operation in accordance with chapter Start up [8 37] and check for
leaks in accordance with chapter Product Pressure Test [8 67].
3. Carry out functional check in accordance with chapter Function Test after Repair Work
[8 66].
4. Have the system checked for safe condition by a skilled person.
5. In accordance with DGUV regulation 100-500, chapters 2.29 and 2.36:
4 The liquid ejection devices should be checked by an expert (e.g., WAGNER service
technician) for their safe working conditions as required and at least every 12
months.
4 For shut down devices, the examination can be suspended until the next start-up.
8.2.3   Safety Checks and Maintenance Intervals
For the safe operation of stationary electrostatic spraying equipment for ignitable liquid
coating products, intervals for periodical inspections are defined as follows:
