Preparing for installation
This document describes the installation procedure for H3C ICG2000 models.

Safety recommendations
Safety symbols
When reading this document, pay attention to the following symbols:
WARNING means an alert that calls attention to important information that if not understood or
followed can result in personal injury.
CAUTION means an alert that calls attention to important information that if not understood or
followed can result in data loss, data corruption, or damage to hardware or software.
General safety recommendations
•
Keep the device and installation tools away from walk areas.
•
Place the device in a dry and flat location and make sure anti-slip measures are in place.
•
Remove all external interface cables and power cords before moving the device.
Electricity safety
•
Locate the power-off switch in the equipment room before installation. Shut off the power
immediately if an accident occurs. Disconnect the power cord from the device if necessary.
•
Make sure the device is reliably grounded.
•
Connect the interface cables correctly.
•
Use an uninterrupted power supply (UPS).
•
Always make sure the power has been disconnected during the installation or replacement
procedure.
Examining the installation site
The device can only be used indoors. To ensure correct operation and long service life of your
device, make sure the installation site meets the following requirements.
