Analog Line Interconnect Through the IP Network

Figure 22 shows an example of the 4FXO mediating between the PBX/PSTN world and the
IP network. A is an enterprise in Europe with its own PBX and the 4FXO connected to analog
lines. B is a SOHO (Small Office, Home Office) in the USA, without a PBX, but with the
4FXS connected to the phones.
A calling B scenario (One-stage dialing set in the INI File)
User A off-hooks the phone, hears the 3Com VCX dial tone, and dials User B's phone

number 4133.
The call is routed to the analog line connected to the 4FXO which routes it to the 4FXS

that maps it to the phone of User B.
B calling A scenario (One-stage dialing set in the INI File)
User B off-hooks the phone, hears the 4FXS device's dial tone, and dials 4247.

The 4FXS device routes the call to the 4FXO which dials it to the 3Com VCX, which
