Setting SDI

The principle of operation of SDI is provided in section Safe Direction (SDI) (Page 42).
● Set the following in this screen form:

Defining the F-DI status

If you do not want to transfer the status of the fail-safe inputs via PROFIsafe, go straight to
the section Activate settings (Page 145).
If you want to transfer the status of the fail-safe digital inputs via PROFIsafe, you first have to
configure the relevant PROFIsafe telegram; see the section Configuring communication in
STEP 7 (telegram 900) (Page 102). In STARTER, you then have to specify which F-DI-
Status you want to transfer via PROFIsafe.

– Enable the function

– Delay time between selecting SDI and the active SDI:
The delay time must be greater than the time that the motor requires, when SDI is
selected, for braking with the maximum load from the maximum speed down to
standstill.

– Tolerance for the permissible motion in the monitored direction (Unit: degree)

– Reaction when the monitoring responds
