Upgrading Your Printer This chapter describes how to upgrade your ColorScript 310/ 330 printer to increase performance. Step-by-step instructions cover installing additional memory and installing an external hard disk for storing fonts. Adding Memory to the Printer Adding Random Access Memory (RAM) to the ColorScript 310/330 printer is one of the best ways to improve print speed.
  • Page 148 Chapter 6 — Upgrading Your Printer Installing additional memory requires that the technician remove the ColorScript 310/330 printer’s logic board and add Single In-line Memory Modules (SIMMs) to the memory slots on the logic board. WARNING: Each pair of SIMMs must be of the same size and speed, and all SIMMS must be 72-pin, 32-bit (no parity) SIMMs, 70ns or faster.
  • Page 149 Adding Memory to the Printer NOTE: If you use 32 MB SIMMs in conjunction with smaller SIMMs, the 32 MB SIMMs must occupy Bank 1. See Figure 6-3 on Page 134 for SIMM slot locations.
