Creating a Packet Capture Instance
To create a packet capture record (or instance) associated with a circuit or channel
from which you want to copy packets, you enter the commands that follow . When
you create a packet capture record, packet capture creates a set of default
parameter values associated with the record and stores them in the MIB.
To create an instance, enter:
atm/11/1# pcap
pcap/11/1# capture-state start
For example, to create a T1 instance, navigate to the t1 prompt (for example,
mct3/2/2; ft3/2/2; t1/2/2/1
t1/2/2/1#
pcap/2/2/1#
Allocating Memory for the Packet Capture File
You must allocate memory to store the packet capture file. By default, the packet
capture file uses 0 bytes of memory.
To allocate memory to the packet capture file:
