Enabling and Disabling Packet Capture

To enable the packet capture utility, enter the following command:
atm/11/1# enable
By default, when you create PCAP, packet capture is enabled. Use the
disable
packet capture, capture buffer memory is freed up. Starting and then stopping
packet capture also has the same effect. When this happens, whatever is in
memory at that point will be deleted. Items do not accumulate in capture buffer
memory in such cases.
Note: Enabling packet capture can affect SSP performance, especially if used
on a trunk, therefore disable PCAP after gathering the needed packet trace.

Starting and Terminating Packet Capture

To start packet capture, enter the following command:
atm/11/1# capture-state start
Note that you must terminate packet capture before you can display the packets.
