The unit relocks to the Rossini Master Clock.
To lock source equipment connected to the AES or SPDIF inputs to a word clock, we
recommend using a Vivaldi Master Clock. The Vivaldi Master Clock has more outputs
than the Rossini Master Clock.
If you lock an AES or SPDIF input to a Master Clock, ensure the source equipment is
locked to the same Master Clock, otherwise the music may have periodic clicks, drop-
outs, or distortion.
Connecting a Rossini Master Clock and a Transport
The Rossini Master Clock has a third output, which is normally fixed at 44.1 kHz. You can use
this output to clock another audio source, such as an SACD Transport.
On dCS Transports, Dual AES is the main output, carrying SACD data and upsampled
CD data. To listen to CD playback in native 16/44.1 format, connect the AES 3 output
or an SPDIF output on the Transport to the matching input on the unit.
