Mounting the Wireless Keypad
The Wireless Keypad should typically be mounted no more than 60 to 80 feet from the Wireless System Controller (for indoor operation). The panel and controller
use radio frequencies to communicate with each other. Those frequencies can go through objects such as walls, ceilings, and floors, so you can put the sensor in a
different room from the controller.
The Wireless Keypad is constructed of UV-resistant ABS plastic allowing for indoor or sheltered outdoor use. The panel should be mounted in an upright position,
with the antenna pointing upward.
A hardware kit (provided with the panel) allows for tabletop mounting using the table stand or wall mounting. To use the stand, simply snap the stand into the
bottom of the panel. You can also mount the panel more securely using the screws in the hardware kit. Using the drilling template (located on the back of the
installation instruction sheet), drill two small holes. Affix the screws to the wall bracket and mount the panel by snapping it onto the bracket.
Discovery
The discovery button is accessible through a labeled hole on the rear side of the access panel. Start discovery mode from the software. Then, using the included
discovery tool, insert it into the discovery hole and press the button for 1-2 seconds to register the device with your system. The discovery page will indicate that
the device was added successfully.
Keypad Keys
To use the Wireless Keypad, associated keys must be registered first before the Home and Away buttons will become enabled. By default, unrecognized keys will
start in a suspended state. Suspended keys will cause the Status LED on the Wireless Keypad to light RED and the Home & Away buttons will not be activated. To
activate the key, from the System Settings menu access the Key Management page. The key is identified by a unique serial number embedded in the button part
of the key. Click the Status column to change the status to Activate. When a user inserts an active key into the Wireless Keypad, the Status LED will turn GREEN
and the Home and Away buttons will become activated.
You can also change the name of the key to more easily associate it with an individual. Double-click on the Key Name column and type in the new name. When
finished, press enter. The Keypad Keys will work on all of the Wireless Keypads you have registered with the system.
