CELL PHONE NOTE:
In order to receive image or video clips attachments on your cell phone, your phone must be capable of receiving such attachments and you must configure the
proper email address that accepts MMS messages on your phone. This cell phone address may not be the same for receiving text messages. Please consult your
wireless provider for more information.

SMTP Setup

Before you can set up your system to send notification messages to your e-mail account, you must first define an SMTP (Internet mail) network connection
between your Motorola system and your ISP's mail server. To define this network connection, click on the EDIT SMTP INFO button and fill in the requested
information. The information that you will need to set up the SMTP network connection is the same as (or similar to) the information that you would need in order
to set up commonly-used mail reader software (such as Microsoft Outlook Express) on your PC. Contact your ISP's technical support department for assistance if
you do not know where to find this information.
At minimum, you will need to enter two pieces of information:
• the network name or IP address of the mail server that your ISP uses to forward
outgoing e-mail. A typical network name might look like mail.yourisp.com, while an
IP address might be a set of four numbers separated by periods, which would appear
similar to 192.168.0.3
• the e-mail address assigned by your ISP (and known to the outgoing mail server), for
example youremail@yourisp.com. Make sure that you enter the e-mail address
assigned by your ISP, which may be different from the address to which you will send
the notification messages to.
Depending on the requirements of your ISP, you may also need to enter additional
information for security purposes. If that is required, click the checkbox labeled "my server
requires authentication" (make sure that it shows a check mark in the checkbox). Then enter
the following information:
the account name assigned to you by your ISP
the account password that you use to access your ISP
Be sure to enter that information exactly as required by your ISP, paying careful attention to spelling and proper use of upper/lower case letters. When you have
entered all of the required information, click on the OK button. You will receive a confirmation popup message. You can enter only one SMTP definition. Entering a
new definition will replace the old definition.
