Concept

1.2.2.1 Technology

Based on Cortex cutting edge technologies and ZDS expertise, the Satcore Series offer the space industry
integrated and cost-effective solutions for addressing Low-Earth Orbit satellite inflight operations, from small
satellite market to Direct Tasking applications.
Merging state-of the art technologies inside a lean architecture, the Satcore Series propose a scalable and flexible
design. This enables an easy software maintenance and a simple improved algorithms implementation leading to
the continuous expansion of the Satcore supported missions list.
The Satcore Series are based on:
 A 2U chassis with components from the industrial world providing reliability and longevity
 A set of electronic boards, corresponding to a light version of Cortex CRT and a light version of Cortex HDR
 A Software-Defined Radio (SDR) architecture combining FPGA-based and CPU-based functions
 Backward compatibility policy for functionalities and interfaces
All signal processing software applications and operating system are shared with Cortex Series product line, in
order to provide to any customer, whatever mission or budget targeted, the best performances and reliability.
