CHAPTER 6
ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE

ALIGNMENT

A good alignment between the emitting and the receiving units is necessary to obtain
the correct behavior of the light curtain. It avoids a not steady light curtain status
(OSSDs flicker on and off and vice versa) due to dust or vibration.
The alignment is perfect if the optic axes of the first and the last emitting unit's beams
coincide with the optic axes of the corresponding elements of the receiving unit.
The figure shows that the first beam is located at the bottom edge of the light curtain,
near to connections. The last beam is at the opposite side. These two beams are the
synchronization beams too.
