Defining the key type

Follow this procedure to define the key type. See
(page 36)
Each feature key can be defined in one of two ways: Central or Local. A
feature key defined as Central can have a Centrex feature, such as Call
Forward, assigned to it. A feature key defined as Local can have a directory
entry assigned to it. By default, all feature keys are defined as Central. For
further information about Centrex features, see CICM Basics (NN10044-111).
Attention: AutoScroll is not available on Nortel IP Phone 2210, 2211, 2212
handsets. The item is not enabled.

Use the CICM Feature menu
to access the Assign menu.
Action
From the main menu, open the Feature menu.
A list of the feature keys and their current assignments appears.
Scroll through the list and select they key to change.
The Feature submenu appears.
Select and open Assign.
Press Key Type.
If the key you selected in step 2 is assigned to a Centrex feature,
these soft key labels appear: Key Type and Autoscroll.
If the selected key is assigned to a local feature, these soft key labels
appear: Key Type and Feature.
Press Key Type.
The Key Type screen appears. A check mark appears beside the type
currently assigned to the key.
To change the key type, select the key type that does not have a
check mark beside it, and press Ok.
