Removing a power-and-ground cable assembly

Prerequisites

Remove a power-and-ground cable assembly to replace it to restore full
power to the BIP.
WARNING
Risk of injury by electrocution
Each power input feed to a breaker interface module
(BIM) is rated up to 100 A. Prior to removing a power-
and-ground assembly, power to the BIP must be switched
off, and all breakers on the BIM must be switched off (the
O is pressed in).

Die Speisestromzuführungen zu jedem
Trennschalterkopplungsmodul (BIM) sind für bis zu 100
A ausgelegt. Bevor ein BIM ausgebaut wird, muß
unbedingt die gesamte Stromversorgung für das BIM
abgeschaltet werden und sämtliche Trennschalter auf dem
BIM müssen ausgelöst werden (O ist gedrückt).
CAUTION
Service interruption from power interruption
Switching off the power input to a BIP means that the one
or two Passport 15000 or 20000 switches cannot operate.
To minimize the impact on traffic of powering down,
disconnect the dc power input cables at the beginning of a
period of lowest traffic over the network or node.
