ENGINE INSTALLATION

Install the engine in the reverse order of removal.
• Install the crankcase bracket 1 to the frame.
• Install the engine and engine mounting shaft.
• Install the rear shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
• Tighten the crankcase bracket nut 2 to the specified torque.
" Crankcase bracket nut: 102 N . m (10.2 kgf . m)
• Elevate the front wheel and support the motorcycle with a jack.
• Tighten the engine mounting nut 3 to the specified torque.
" Engine mounting nut: 85 N . m (8.5 kgf . m)
NOTE:
When tightening the engine mounting nut, make sure the front
wheel is elevated.
• Tighten the rear shock absorber lower mounting bolt 4 to the
specified torque.
" Rear shock absorber lower mounting bolt:
• Place 65 kg on the seat, after installing the engine.
• Check the clearance A. The clearance A should be 38 – 40
mm. If the clearance A is incorrect, repeat the engine installa-
tion procedures.
• After installing the engine, properly route the wire harness,
cables, and hoses. Refer to the wire, cable and hose routing
sections. (77-9 to -15)
• Adjust the following items to specification.
* Throttle cable play ................................................ 72-7
* Engine idle speed ................................................. 72-7, -8
* Rear brake cable adjustment ............................... 72-11
* Oil pump cable adjustment ................................... 72-8
* Oil pump air bleeding ........................................... 74-19
32 N . m (3.2 kgf . m)
