2. Adjust:
• Steering cable joint
(steering master end)
Adjustment steps:
1. Set the QSTS grip to the neutral position.
2. Loosen the locknut 1.
3. Disconnect the steering cable joint 2 from
the ball joint 3.
4. Turn the steering cable joint 2 in or out to
adjust the distances a and b.
WARNING
The steering cable joint must be screwed in
more than 8 mm (0.31 in) c.
Distance a is increased.
Turn in
Distance b is increased.
Turn out
5. Connect the steering cable joint 2, and
then tighten the locknut 1 to the specified
torque.
Locknut:
7 N·m (0.7 kgf·m, 5.2 ft·lb)
6. Check the jet thrust nozzle angle differ-
ence of distances a and b again.
7. If the steering cable cannot be properly
adjusted using the cable joint at the steer-
ing master end, adjust the cable joint at
the jet pump end so that the difference of
distances a and b is within specification.

pump end)" in Chapter 8.
