Troubleshooting

Symptom, probable cause and countermeasure have been summarized in this section.
Symptom/Condition
The inverter
outputs U,V
and W are not
The
supplying
motor will
voltage.
not
move
Inverter outputs
U,V,W are
supplying
voltage.
The direction of the
Motor is reversed
The motor speed
will not reach the
target frequency
(desired speed)
The rotation is
unstable
Probable Cause
•Is the Frequency Setpoint Source (A01)
parameter set correctly?
•Is the Run Source (A02) parameter set
correctly?
•Is power being supplied to the AC Input
terminals R, S and T?
If so, the power lamp should be on.
•Is there an error code E□□displayed?
•Are the signals to the intelligent input
terminals correct?
•Is the Run Command active?
•Is the[FW] terminal (or [RV]connected to
CM1 or CM(via switch, etc.)
•Has the frequency setting for F01 been
set greater than zero?
•Are the control circuit terminals
H, O, and L connected to the
potentiometer?
•Is the RS(reset) function or FRS
(free-run stop)function on?
•Is the motor load too heavy?
•Is the motor locked?
•Are the connections at the output
terminals U, V, W correct?
•Is the phase sequence of the motor
forward or reverse with respect to
U, V, and W?
•Are the control terminals
[FW] and [RV] wired correctly?
•Is parameter (F04) properly set?
•If using an analog input reference, is
voltage or current present at "O" or "OI"
respectively?
•Is the load too heavy?
•Is the load fluctuation too great?
•Is the supply voltage unstable?
•Is the reference signal unstable?
•Is the problem occurring at a particular
frequency?
•Make sure the parameter (A01) is
set correctly?
•Make sure the parameter (A02) is
set correctly?
•Check terminals R, S and T for rated
AC voltage. Voltage will only be
present at U, V, W if a Run
command is present.
•Turn on the power supply or check
the input circuit breaker or fuses.
•Press the Func key and determine
the error type.
Then clear the error(Reset).
•Verify the terminal functions for
C01-C06 are correct.
•Turn on Run Command
•Supply 24V to [FW] or [RV]
terminal, if configured.
(Terminal mode selection)
•Set the parameter (F01) to a safe,
non-zero value.
•If the potentiometer is the Frequency
Setpoint Source, verify that the DC
voltage at "O">0V
•Turn off the command(s)
•Reduce load, and test the motor
independently.
•Make connections according to
the phase sequence of the motor.
In general: FWD=U-V-W, and
REV=U-W-V.
•Use terminal [FW] forward [RV]
reverse.
•Set motor direction in (F04).
•Check the wiring
•Check the potentiometer voltage
signal or the source supplying
the current reference.
•Reduce the load.
•Heavy loads activate the overload
restriction feature.
(reduces output as needed)
•Increase the motor capacity
(both inverter and motor)
•Fix power supply problem.
•Change the output frequency
slightly, or use the jump frequency
setting to skip the problem
frequency.
