CHAPTER 9 – USING THE NETWORK

Network Setup

In order to use the Network features, networking must be setup under the Main
Menu -> Network settings.
Access to the network features can be turned on or off under Main Menu -> Access
Settings screen.
 Rapidly upload or download clips, from Instant Replay to your computer.
 Clip organization
 Rename clips
 Delete clips
WARNING: The Instant Replay is not designed as a network security device and
therefor should be protected when placed on a network. Placing the unit behind a
firewall or other network security device or having it on an isolated standalone
network are best practices. Please consult your network administrator.
Network Settings
In the Network Settings screen, turn DHCP to ON to enable the system to
automatically receive IP information from a DHCP server connected to the network.
Note: The system must have a unique Host Name assigned on the network.
Please see your network administrator for instructions.
If DHCP is set to OFF, all IP information must be entered manually. This would
include at a minimum, the IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway
Note: When assigning a static IP address, the system must have a unique IP
address on the network. Please see your network administrator for instructions.
DNS servers are automatically assigned if using DHCP and will need to be manually
assigned if using a static IP address.
NTP (time) servers should be added as needed in order to keep the system clock up
to date.
Note: NTP servers are only used if Automatic Updates are enabled in the Date &
Time Settings.
