To avoid damage to the vehicle, follow the
instructions for cleaning and care of the following
vehicle parts:
Wheels and rims
Use water and acid-free alloy wheel cleaner.

Do not use acidic alloy wheel cleaners to
R
remove brake dust. Otherwise, wheel bolts
and brake components could be damaged.
To avoid corrosion of brake discs and brake‐
R
pads, drive for a few minutes after cleaning
before parking the vehicle. The brake discs
and brakepads warm up and dry out.
Windows
Clean the windows inside and outside with a
R
damp cloth and with a cleaning agent recom‐
mended for Mercedes-Benz.
Do not use dry cloths or abrasive or solvent-
R
based cleaning agents to clean the inside of
windows.
Wiper blades
Carefully clean the folded-away wiper blades
R
with a damp cloth.
Fold wiper arm away from the rear window
R

Do not clean the wiper blades too often.

Exterior lighting
Clean the covers with a wet sponge and mild
R
cleaning agent, e.g. car shampoo.
Only use cleaning agents or cloths suitable
R
for plastic covers.
Sensors
Clean the sensors in the front and rear bump‐
R
ers with a soft cloth and car shampoo
(
page 110).

When using a power washer, keep a minimum
R
distance of 12 in (30 cm).
Rear view camera
Vehicles with a tailgate: switch on the igni‐
R
tion and shift the transmission to the k posi‐
tion to open the camera cover when the
engine is switched off (

Use clean water and a soft cloth to clean the

camera lens.
Do not use a power washer.

Trailer hitch
Observe the notes on care in the trailer hitch
manufacturer's operating instructions.
Notes on interior care
& WARNING Risk of injury from plastic
Care and cleaning products containing sol‐
vents can cause surfaces in the cockpit to
become porous. When the airbags are
deployed, plastic parts may break away.

& WARNING Risk of injury or death from
Bleaching or dyeing seat belts can severely
weaken them.
This can, for example, cause seat belts to tear
or fail in an accident.

Remove foreign objects from the vicinity of
the contact plates and contact pins of the
sliding door.
Clean the contact plates and contact pins
with a mild cleaning agent and a soft cloth.
Do not oil or grease the contact plates and

Mercedes-Benz, especially in the winter and
after washing the vehicle.
Do not use acidic cleaning agents.

Never bleach or dye seat belts.
Clean with lukewarm soapy water.
Do not use chemical cleaning agents.
Do not dry by heating above 176 °F (80 °C)
or in direct sunlight.
