3) Align the bar parts on the plaster model.
4) When using a lamination dummy: Fix joint bar and stirrup to align­
ment adapter (743Y56=4) using the lamination dummy and the enclosed
shoulder screw (see fig. 2 and see fig. 4).
5) When not using a lamination dummy: Fix joint bar and stirrup to
alignment adapter (743Y56=4) using the basic piece (no illustration).
Place the stop dummies in the spring passages of the basic piece.
6) NOTICE! Make sure that the marking of the foot stirrup is aligned
in the neutral position vis-à-vis the marking of the counterpart (see
Fig. 3, items 1 and 2).
7) Pull a PVA bag over the plaster model to isolate it.
8) Pull a layer of perlon stockinette over the plaster model.
9) Fix the finished reinforced bar parts to the plaster model. Carry out the
reinforcement of the model in accordance with patient's needs (see
fig. 5).
10) Seal the lamination dummy or basic piece of the joint with Plastaband
and fill hollows with Dacron felt (see fig. 6).
11) Pull another layer of perlon stockinette over the plaster model.
12) Affix further reinforcement layers for the support surfaces and the foot
area, as described in section 9 below.
13) Complete reinforcement with a layer of Perlon stockinette and designer
fabric.
14) Pull on a PVA bag and vacuum.
15) Then laminate with C-Orthocryl lamination resin and let it cure.
16) Demould the model and cut loose the lamination dummy (16) or basic
piece (6) of the system ankle joint.
17) If using without a lamination dummy: Remove stop dummies from the
spring passages.
5.2 Assembly
Flat head screw (item 10)
1) Insert foot component with the stirrup (15) and axial washers (11) in the
basic piece. Use one axial washer per side.
2) Make sure that the axial washers prevent direct contact between the met­
al basic piece and the foot stirrup.
3) Lubricate the screw (9) and nut (7) with the 633F7 special lubricant.
