OIL PUMP, CRANKCASE AND CRANKSHAFT
4. Inspect:
S Lower crankcase 1
S Upper crankcase 2
S Front left brackets 3
S Front right brackets 4
S Rear bracket 5
S Dampers 6
Cracks/damage ! Replace.
5. Inspect:
S Oil pump
Cracks/damage ! Replace.
S Oil hoses
Clogs/damage ! Replace.

OIL PUMP STROKE ADJUSTMENT

1. Remove:
S Oil pump cover 1
2. Wipe off the grease from the plunger top.
3. Measure:
S Minimum pump stroke a
Out of specification ! Adjust.
Minimum pump stroke a :
0.20 X 0.25 mm
(0.008 X 0.010 in)
Minimum pump stroke measurement steps:
S Turn the pump worm gear 1 with your fin-
gers, until the plunger top 2 is at its maxi-
mum distance from the pump body mating
surface 3 of the pump cover.
S Using a feeler gauge, measure the minimum
pump stroke a between the adjusting plate
4 and the raised boss 5 on the adjusting
pulley.
S If minimum pump stroke is not with in the
specified limits, perform the adjustment
steps.
