BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT

1. Remove:
S Brake caliper
NOTE:
S Do not depress the brake lever when the cali-
per or disc is off the machine otherwise the
brake pads will be forced shut.
S Replace the pads as a set if either one is found
to be worn to the wear limit a .
Wear limit a :
10 mm (0.39 in)
2. Measure:
S Brake disc thickness a
Out of specification ! Replace the brake
disc.
Minimum thickness a :
3.5 mm (0.14 in)
Measuring point: 1 X 3 mm (0.04 X 0.12 in)
from the edge of the brake disc.
3. Install:
S Brake pads
S Brake caliper
Installation steps:
S Removing the end cover 1 .
CAUTION:
Do not disassemble the torsion spring from
the end cover and the guide.
S Removing the adjusting ratchet 1 .
