Before reading this familiarization guide, you should first read the HP Kayak
XU Series 0441 PC Workstation Familiarization Guide. It contains details
about the Kayak PC Workstation package, system board layout, and different
steps to help you repair the PC Workstation. All the information about the
different hardware tasks and the MaxiLife firmware for the XU Series 0441
is also valid for the HP Kayak XW Series 0480 PC Workstation.
The only major difference between these two models is the video controller.
The HP Kayak XW Series 0480 model is supplied with an HP VISUALIZE fx6
AGP video controller, while the HP Kayak XU Series 0441 model contains
the ELSA GLoria Synergy AGP video controller.
This familiarization guide contains information that is only specific to the HP
VISUALIZE fx6 AGP graphics board. This powerful graphics board includes
a hardware acceleration for many functions used to generate 3D graphics.
Typical usage is for CAD/CAM applications, visual simulation and complex
