Problem
Bent cutter blade
Conditioner roll timing off
Bent cage deflector
Conditioner roll gap too
small
Mud deposits on
conditioner rolls
Conditioner rolls
contacting each other
Too much lubricant in
cutterbar
Mud on cutterbar
Spindle bearing failure
Material wrapped around
spindle
Cutting too low in rocky
field conditions
Header float set too heavy Increase flotation
Ground speed too high
in rocky field conditions.
At high ground speed,
header tends to dig rocks
from ground instead of
floating over them
Blade incorrectly mounted
Solution
Replace blade
Check roll timing and
adjust if necessary
Replace deflector
Check gap and adjust if
necessary
Clean rolls
Increase roll gap
Check roll timing.
Drain lubricant and refill
with specified amount
Remove mud from
cutterbar. Do NOT allow
mud to dry on cutterbar.
Replace spindle bearing
Remove disc and remove
material
Decrease header angle.
Increase flotation
Reduce ground speed
Check all blade mounting
hardware and ensure
blades are free to move
