performing any inspection,
maintenance, or cleaning
procedures.

cleaning, Maintenance, and
lubrication

BeFOre eacH use,
general condition of the tool. Check
for loose screws, misalignment or
binding of moving parts, cracked or
broken parts, damaged electrical wir-
ing, and any other condition that may
affect its safe operation.

Periodically blow dust and grit out
of the motor vents using dry com-
pressed air. Always wear safety
glasses when performing this mainte-
nance operation.

solvents or harsh cleaners as they
may damage the housing. to pre-
vent electrical shock, do not allow
water or other liquids to enter the
motor vent holes in the gear Hous-
ing (28).

carBOn BrusH Maintenance.
The carbon brushes may require
maintenance when the motor perfor-
mance of the tool decreases or stops
working completely. To maintain the
brushes:
a.
Remove the Screws (45) and Brush
Caps (46 and 53) from the sides of
the motor housing.
b. Disconnect the Carbon Brush Leads.
c.
The Brush Holders (47) are held in
place by slots in the housing. Sim-
ply move them back into place if
they slide out.
d. Use a small prying tool (not includ-
ed) to hold the Spring Clips to the
clean external surfaces
