This manual is intended to be a complete reference for all installation and operation tasks for the 6820* and 6820EVS**. Please let us

1.3 Compatible Products

Table 1.1 lists the products available from Honeywell Silent Knight for use with the 6820 and 6820EVS.

Signaling line circuit
The term module is used for all hardware devices except for SLC addressable devices and
notification appliances. This includes the 6820 or 6820EVS panel itself and the built-in power
supply. It also refers to any (optional) 5815XL or 6815 SLC expansion modules.
An addressable sensing device, such as a smoke or heat detector or a contact monitor device.
A protected area made up of input points.
A notification point or circuit for notification appliances. Relay circuits and auxiliary power
circuits are also considered output points.
A group of output points. Operating characteristics are common to all output points in the
group.
The pattern that the output will use, for example, Constant, March Code, ANSI 3.41. Applies to
zones and special system events. See "Cadence Patterns" on page 198 for additional
information.
Mapping is the process of specifying which outputs are activated when certain events occur in
the system. Section "Mapping Overview" on page 97 explains mapping in detail.
Emergency Voice System.
Up to 17 panels can be linked. Consist of any combination of 17 panels of these model
numbers:6700, 6808, 6820, or 6820EVS. For reporting purposes only. Not a peer-to-peer
networked system.
