Electrical System

The engine is equipped with a 2-pole electrical system
and an alternator.
WARNING!
Always stop the engine and break the current using the
main switches before working on the engine.
IMPORTANT:
Contact a Volvo Penta dealer for information if any arc
welding will be performed on the application.
Arc welding can cause damage to the engine and the
electronics.

Fuses

The engine is equipped with a semi-automatic fuse
(8A) which cut the current if overloaded. The fuse is
located in the junction box on the engines service side.
The semi-automatic fuse are re-set by pressing the red
button, once any faults have been attended to.
IMPORTANT!
Always investigate the cause of the overload. If the
fuse trips frequently, contact an authorized Volvo
Penta workshop.

Electrical Connections

Check that electrical connections are dry, free from
oxide, and that they are securely tightened.
