Fuel pre-filter

A fuel pre-filter with water separation must be installed.
The water level needs to be checked regularly. The
electrical connector pins (1) in the bowl can be
connected to an alarm that will warn when there is
water in the pre-filter.

1 Position a container under the filter.
2 Drain off water and contaminants through the
draining valve (3).
Fuel pre-filter, cleaning
1 Stop the engine.
2 Place a container under the filter.
3 Undo the bleed screw (2). Contaminants and
water drops will release from the bottom of the
filter element and drop down to the bottom of the
bowl.
4 Open the draining valve (3) by pushing it in and
turning simultaneously. The clean fuel above

the filter will flush through the filter element
taking smaller dirt and water particles with it.
5 Let the fuel flush until clean fuel flows out.

6 Close the draining valve.
7 Tighten the bleed screw, but not to tight.
8 Start the engine.
Fuel Pre-filter, Change
Change the filter element according to the
recommendations in the Service Protocol, or earlier if
the pressure at the fuel inlet of the feed pump, at
maximum rpm, shows a low pressure above 50 kPa
(7.2 psi).
1 Stop the engine.
2 Loosen the screws on the lid and remove it.
3 Take out the spring frame.
4 Take out the filter element and replace it with a new
5 Place the spring frame on top of the filter element.
6 Check the lid gasket, replace it if necessary.
7 Place the gasket and lid in its right position.
8 Tighten the screws firmly.
