This section describes the sequence of powering on the slave devices, powering on the network, powering on
the controller, and starting the DN912. Before performing this procedure, make sure that all wiring and settings
have been completed.
Turn ON the external power supply for DeviceNet network.

Turn ON the external power supply for the slave device and the load power supply for the slave

device.
This external power supply and load power supply are shared. If this is not possible, turn on the external power
supply and the load power supply at the same time, or turn on the load power supply after the external power
supply.
Turn ON the controller unit

The "POWER" indicator LED of the power module lights up is green.
Turn ON the external power supply for the TC-net I/O base unit.

Switch the switch of the base unit BU90A from "MAINT" to "RUN"

Set the operation mode switch of the controller module to "RUN"

◇ Remark
Depending on the configuration and model of the DeviceNet slave device, startup may be slow and an [I / O node
error (minor failure)] may be registered in the system log when the controller module is switched to RUN. However,
when the DeviceNet slave device starts and operates normally and enters the TC-net I / O loop of DN912, the I / O
node error is recovered.
Do not shut down the network power while network
communication is running.
Refuse do so, the communication of entire network will stop and
whichever nodes will bused off.
Power ON in the following order.
External power supply for DeviceNet network →
Slave I/O and its load power supply → nv-series power
supply → TC-net I/O base unit power supply
If not, it may cause malfunction
