QSFP Cable Power Budget Classification

The MetroX uplink (long haul) ports are designed for active cables with a max power per module
of 3.5W. Typical power per port is 2.5W.

2.4.1

Port Connector Interfaces

The connector side of the switch has 12 QSFP ports. The 6 on the left side (numbered 1 -6) are
long haul ports that require 3.5W max power per port and can drive the signal up to 10 km. The 6
ports on the right side (numbered 7 -12) are the downlink FDR ports. Four of the six downlink
ports can be split to 4 X 10 Gb/s.
