Battery Replacement

The server CMOS contains an internal lithium cell. A risk of fire and burns exists if
the cell is not properly handled. To reduce the risk of personal injury:
Do not attempt to recharge the battery.
Do not expose the battery to temperatures higher than 60°C (140°F).
Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, or dispose of in
fire or water.
Replace only with the spare designated for this product.
Take proper electrostatics discharge (ESD) precautions such as using
appropriate anti-static straps, conductive foam pad or anti-static gloves.
To replace the battery:
1.
Power off the server and disconnect all the power cables to remove power
completely.
2.
Gently slide and remove the server out of the rack.
3.
Remove the access panel.
4.
Remove the air duct.
5.
Remove the OCP 3.0 NIC.
6.
Remove any full-length expansion card if the card is in the way.
7.
Locate the CMOS battery.
8.
Gently press the clip on the battery socket until the battery pops up from the
socket.
9.
Remove the battery from the socket.
DO NOT push the battery using excessive force.
Failing to remove the battery properly might damage the socket on the
motherboard. Any damage to the socket might require replacing the entire
base with the motherboard.
10. Dispose of the battery as required by local ordinances or regulations.
