Vertical Fan Unit (sFU-40V)
The sFU-40V vertical fan unit, shown in the following figure, is part of the 4700 air cooling
system; it provides cooling of the Line Boards and the management boards. It includes 5 fans
with fan speed control; fan speed is dynamically controlled as a function of temperature.

To replace the sFU-40V:
1. Loosen the four screws that secure the sFU-40V to the chassis.
2. Remove the sFU-40V by sliding it out of the chassis.
Never remove the sFU-40V and sFU-40H at the same time; at least one fan unit must be
installed at all times.
