4. Lift away the insert.
A hole is visible below each hole.
5. Insert the smaller hexagonal wrench (3/32 inch) into the left-hand
adjustment screw for the interferometer, as follows:
a. Insert the wrench through the hole on the left.
b. Tilt the wrench toward the left front corner of the instrument at an
angle of 6°.
c. Push the wrench in as far as it goes.
d. Gently rotate the wrench until it drops into the head of the adjustment
screw.
NOTE: Scan errors may be caused when the wrench is first engaged. If the
scan status box changes to red with the word ERROR, wait until the
scan has recovered before proceeding. This may take several seconds,
and the scan status box will return to MONITOR when the instrument
is ready to continue.
