Condensate drainage

DANGER
Danger of poisoning from a carbon
monoxide leak.
ALWAYS comply with connection
levels.
A siphon should be installed at a minimum height of
250 mm in the condensate drain to ensure that
exhaust gas cannot escape (Fig. 12). Otherwise there
is the danger of poisoning from a carbon monoxide
leak CO.
CAUTION
Property damage from excessive
exhaust gas temperature. Check the
temperature and water level every time
it is started.
The condensate discharge should be connected with
an electronic connector (such as a hose) both on the
CHP and on the muffler and connected on the
exhaust gas pipe and chimney to be vibration
isolated.
The condensate line must be checked regularly
blockages and sufficient water seal.

4.9.1 General requirements
Condensate precipitates from the CHP and exhaust
gas line. The exhaust gas condensate is substantially
acidic and has a pH-value of 2 to 3. This is why the
condensate may only be discharged into the
discharge channels (and never outwards) in
conformity with the DWA set of rules for the DWA-A
251 worksheet on Condensates from Condensing
Boilers and in consultation with the local waste water
office.
For environmental reasons, it is advisable to use
neutralisation systems with lime granulate that
discolours depending upon saturation.
4.9.2 Special mounting instructions
●
Install a free drain via siphon (U pipe) on the
condensate drainage supports.
●
Provide a stainless steel or plastic design for the
DN 25 condensate discharge to be acid-resistant.
●
Hydraulic seals must be executed, so that the
water level can be checked and filled.
●
Do not fasten any pipework on the CHP
●
Install a silicon hose as vibration insulation directly
behind the CHP module (in the scope of delivery)
●
Since the oil gas can condensate in the exhaust
gas at low exhaust gas temperatures, the customer
should provide an oil trap in the condensate
discharge.
