6.1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter describes the connectors and headers that allow you to connect the CS89712
Development Board to your host PC and to connect the board to a variety of peripheral devices. It
also describes the jumpers and settings that allow you to control the operating mode of these

6.3 MAJOR INTERFACES
6.3.1
Serial Port Interfaces
The CS89712 is equipped with two UARTs. Both UARTs support data rate up to 115kbps and have
16 byte FIFO on both receive and transmit channels. UART0 also supports the IrDA protocol, which
can be enabled under software control.
