Laylines

A layline is the best course for route, calculated using wind speed and direction, head-
ing, own ship speed and tidal currents.
Note 1: Appropriate sensors for these data are required to use the layline feature.
6.14.1

How to enable/disable the layline feature

1. Open the home screen, then tap [Settings][Routes]. The routes menu appears.
2. At [Laylines], tap the toggle box to show [ON] (enable) or [OFF] (disable) as re-
quired.
3. At [Tidal Offset for Laylines], tap the toggle box to show [ON] (offset the laylines
based on tidal data) or [OFF] (no offset is applied) as required.
4. Tap the close button to close the menu.
5. Open the [Layers] menu, then tap the toggle box at [Layines] to show [ON]or
[OFF] as required. Note that this menu item is not visible in the [Layers] menu if
[OFF] is selected at step 2.
Note: You can also enable/disable the layline feature from the pop-up menu, provided
that [Laylines] is set to [ON] in the [Routes] menu.
6.14.2

How to show layline data in the data area

1. Open the data area, then tap [DATA] (at the bottom of the data area).
2. Tap the location in the data area where you want to show the layline data. The
[Add NavData] menu appears.
3. Tap [Layline Information]. Data for port-side and starboard-side appears in the
data area.
