Maintenance

Regular maintenance is of extreme importance for a long working life and optimal functioning of the installation.
The user can carry out the maintenance activities listed below. Other activities may only be carried out by the
installer.
Every week
1. Check the water level and wicks in all the RH measurement units. The water and wick should be clean (no
algae) and there must be sufficient water. Preferably use distilled water and an original Fancom RH wick.
Ensure that the water transport wires are properly connected to the sensor.
2. Check the water separators in the O
water and solve the problem. The outside connection is often hanging in the rain.
3. Test the alarm installation.
Every growing cycle
1. When using a O
necessary.
2. Check RH measurement. Remove the RH wick and allow the wet bulb to dry thoroughly. Check if the wet
bulb shows the same temperature as the dry bulb. Replace the wick if necessary. Ensure that the water
transport wires are properly connected to the sensor.
3. Check temperatures: walk around the empty tunnel and compare temperature measurements. If there are
unacceptable differences, trace the cause. Replacement or re-calibration may be necessary.
4. Check smooth running of the measurement fans. Replace if necessary. Check the measurement by
comparing the maximum quantities of fresh air and return air with the measured yields at installation. (Pay
attention to the individual circumstances - with or without filter etc.).
Every three months
1. If an O measurement is used, check the O

necessary.
2. Check the air inlets and servomotors for correct functioning; check for smooth opening/closing and play.
Repair or replace if necessary.
Every year
1. Check the condition of the fans, fan belts and bearings. Replace if necessary.
2. Check the sensor cables. They must not become hard and brittle. Replace if necessary.
