General information

Intended use

The valve coupler FD0-VC-Ex4.FF is a field device for the F
to IEC 61 158/ISA-S50.02 standards. Connection of the device within hazardous areas can be established
corresponding to the FISCO or the Entity model. When connected corresponding to the Entity model, the

The valve coupler is used to operate intrinsically safe low power auxiliary valves and their final position feed-
back contacts (sensors or mechanical switches) within hazardous areas, e.g. in the chemical and petroche-
mical industries. The valve coupler is used in ignition protection II (1) 2G EEx ia IIC T4. Supply is via a power
repeater. Data are transferred bi-directionally via the fieldbus to other devices and to a higher-level PLC or
PCS.
The protection of operators and plant is not ensured unless the device is used for the purpose
intended.
