d. External +24Vdc
Some VLTs have the ability to connect an external 24Vdc to terminals 35 (+24Vdc)
and 36 (Com). This keeps the control card active when power is removed from the
input side of the drive. This might be important in maintaining serial
communications with the automation system.
This 24Vdc option is also used when the dynamic brake resistor is used to remove
DC Link power, discharging the DC Link capacitors. This option greatly reduces the
time needed to discharge the caps and is important when waiting for the discharge
of the caps is too expensive on inconvenient.
