Configuring General Values of the ANG-3000/7000 with APM
13 Click Apply Changes.
The Completed Successfully window appears with a system prompt
to reboot the ANG.
14 Click the Restart button.
Since an ANG reboot may take a few minutes, wait for the ANG to
completely restart before continuing configuration. Ping the trusted IP
address of the ANG and wait for the reply to verify when the connection
returns.
15 Do one of the following:
– To finish configuring a remote ANG, change the remote control
PC's IP address to the same network as the ANG.
– To finish configuring a local ANG, do not change the PC's IP
address and skip to "ANG-3000/7000 Installation and
Configuration Checklist" on page 61.
16 Re-launch the APM using the newly specified IP address (trusted IP
address you set earlier).
After completing General configuration, if you are configuring a local
ANG, you must continue configuration using RiverMaster. Refer to the
RiverMaster Administrator's Guide for detailed instructions. The remainder
of these instructions assume configuration for a remote ANG which is
used for site-to-site connections only.
We recommend changing the password of the UNIX root and netadmin
accounts on the ANG as soon as possible to prevent unauthorized access.
Do so by connecting to the ANG via Telnet and performing the following
steps. Be sure to save each new account password.
- Type su and press
- Type passwd netadmin and press
- When prompted, type your new UNIX password and press
- When prompted, retype your new UNIX password and press
