Resetting a System

When you press the Reset button on any APS or ANG (except the ANG-1000),
the system performs a full reset which clears memory, reloads the operating
system, and starts Enterasys services. Figure 90 shows the location of the reset
button on the front panel.
In general, you need to manually reset an APS/ANG-3000/7000 only under
the following conditions:
The NMI (Non Maskable Interrupt) switch, shown in Figure 90, is recessed
and requires a pen or paper clip to press the button. When depressed, this
switch will cause an NMI to be issued to the system. It is used to dump the
system state when the system is hung. We recommend that you do not use the
NMI switch.
The ANG-1000 is returned to factory defaults by inserting a paper clip or
similar sharp object into the recessed Reset button at the rear of the Gateway.

r After changing one of the system's IP addresses.
r After one of the systems has automatically rebooted (under the
direction of the IR Overlord service) and you want to resynchronize
the IR Delivery service.
