Connecting to a Modem
To connect a modem to an Enterasys Networks DFE‐Gold module COM port
(Figure
3‐11), use a UTP straight‐through cable with RJ45 connectors and an RJ45‐to‐DB25
male adapter, and proceed as follows:
1.
Connect the RJ45 connector at one end of the UTP straight‐through cable
COM port
2.
Plug the RJ45 connector at the other end of the UTP straight‐through cable
RJ45‐to‐DB25 modem adapter
3.
Connect the RJ45‐to‐DB25 adapter
4.
Turn on the modem
5.
With a PC connected to a remote modem
To accomplish this, you must configure your PC VT emulation package with the
following parameters.

When these parameters are set, the Local Management password screen will display.
