Water Bed Heater System
Connections to the Water Bed
Connect the heater to bed tubing set to the water bed of choice. Water beds supplied
by SA Instruments come with tube fittings that can be inserted in the ends of the tubing
set.
Energize the Water Bed Heater System
Add cold water to the reservoir. The reservoir is located behind the door in the back of
the Circulation Module.
If the system is being used with a monitoring system follow these steps:
1. Connect the monitor's USB cable to the PC,
2. Follow the instructions in Chapter 2 to determine the com port assigned to the
USB cable
3. Launch PC-sam from the icon on the desktop
4. Open the Full Setup window and set the com port
5. Click the button on the bottom right to display the monitor window.
6. Open the HEATER window
7. Click the Water Heater button to open the WBH User Interface
8. Connect the USB cable from the Circulation Module to the PC
9. If the error message "Serial Port Setup Failed" is displayed in the message
window, open the SYSTEMS SETTINGS window and set the com port Follow
the instructions in Chapter 2 to determine the com port assigned to the USB
cable
10. Turn on power to the Circulation Module. The pumps should turn on.
If the system is being used in the standalone mode follow these steps:
1. Launch PC-HWB from the icon on the desktop.
2. Connect the USB cable from the Circulation Module to the PC
3. If the error message "Serial Port Setup Failed" is displayed in the message
window, open the SYSTEMS SETTINGS window and set the com port. Follow
the instructions in Chapter 2 to determine the com port assigned to the USB
cable
4. Turn on power to the Circulation Module. The pumps should turn on.
Let the system run for about 30 minutes or until all the air is out. Add more water to the
reservoir as needed. The system will hold about 3 liters of water.
When all the air is out of the system, the flow meter located by the reservoir should read
between 1.5 and 2.5 gallons per hour.
