Unscrew the coolant drain plug and
drain the coolant into a suitable con-
tainer.

1. Coolant drain plug
NOTE: Do not unscrew the coolant
drain plug completely.
650 Models
Disconnect the lower radiator hose
and drain the remaining coolant into a
suitable container.
NOTE: Take note of the position of the
hose clamp on the lower radiator hose
at the radiator.
Reinstall radiator hose as noted prior to
removal.
All Models
Reinstall cooling system drain plug
with a new sealing ring.
Tighten the coolant drain plug to speci-
fication.

9 N•m to 11 N•m
(80 lbf•in to 97 lbf•in)

Cooling System Filling and Bleeding
1. Unscrew bleed screws above both
front and rear cylinders.

1. Front cylinder bleed screw

1. Rear cylinder bleed screw
2. Fill the cooling system until coolant
comes out of the bleed screw(s).
3. Install the bleed screw(s) using
NEW gasket rings and torque as
per following chart.
TIGHTENING TORQUE

4. Continue adding coolant until sys-
tem is full up to the pressure cap.
5. Refill coolant tank up to MAX level
mark.
6. Run engine at idle with the radiator
cap off. Slowly add coolant if neces-
sary.
5.0 N•m ± 0.6 N•m
(44 lbf•in ± 5 lbf•in)
