To connect an external alarm to the router:

Design the external alarm circuitry using the input and output pin assignments
provided in
External Alarms Port on page
Attach each alarm device to the customized end of the external alarm cable (either
directly or through a distribution device).
Attach the DB15 male connector end of the cable to the router.
