Glossary

Combined channels
are I/O channels which can either be operated as an input or output. This means
that both an input address space and an output address space are reserved as a
process image.
NOTE
It should be noted that it is not permitted to apply 24 V to a combined channel without providing
the supply voltage. Otherwise, the voltage is fed back via the output circuit of the combined
channel into the supply voltage terminal of the module. This can lead to a malfunction or the
destruction of the output circuit.
Contact slide
The orange contact slides on the top of the module link the communication
transfer between the modules and the bus coupler.
Equipotential stepping terminals
are spring-loaded terminals which are used to switch the supply voltage to the
next module in order to save additional clamping points.
NOTE
It should be ensured that each terminal is only loaded up to a maximum current of 8 A.
