Disposal of used batteries

Exhausted batteries that have been used in the automation systems must be
given to a recycling scheme for batteries (GRS) or public waste disposal
companies.
Batteries should only be returned in the discharged state. This occurs if the device
no longer functions due to insufficient battery capacity.
If the batteries are not fully discharged, precautions must be taken against
possible short circuits. This can be achieved by insulating the battery poles with
adhesive strips.
