2.22.3 Functions

Each up/down counter counts pulses of an incremental valuator (it is not possible
to connect an absolute value device). The count is compared with 2 threshold
values so that a switching axis can be controlled.
The traversing motion is stopped via the limit switch inputs, independently of the
counting process. The counters can be configured via the PLC. The PLC has write
access to the configuration memory as well as the threshold and count values. It
has read access to the count values and the status of the inputs/outputs (with
exception of track signals A, B).
