3. Patching

In this chapter, we will introduce how to setup/patch dimmer channels and fixtures.

3.1 Assign the Fixture Addresses

First, you will need to patch your fixtures to tell the controller what kind of fixtures you want to control. The controller will
offer an open DMX address automatically during patching. You can patch all your fixtures first and check their patching
addresses before assigning them to fixtures. Alternatively, you could assign DMX addresses on the fixtures first, and then
set the correct addresses during patching.

3.2 Patching Fixtures

To control intelligent fixtures or dimmer channels, you should patch them on the fixture keys first. There are 20 fixture
pages, and each page has 20 fixture keys for patching. A maximum 400 fixtures can be patched.
3.2.1 Patching Dimmers
Each fixture key can control single or multiple dimmer channels.
• Press the Patch key, and then press [Patch New Fixture].
• Press [Patch Dimmer]. The patch window on the left will show patched fixtures.
• Press the [A] on the Start DMX Address option, and you will find the outputs (A and B). Input a value to setup the
initial DMX address in the blank field. You can use the numeric keys or Wheel D to set the value.
• Press Wheel D to switch to the Unit start number. Input a value in the blank field (see photo below).
• Press Wheel D again to switch to Quantity and input a value. If the quantity = 1, this will patch a single dimmer
channel on the number entered in the Unit start number, and if the quantity > than 1, this will patch a sequence
of dimmers, each to its own key. The range of dimmers will be patched in sequential order.
• Press [Confirm] to finish patching. The PATCH SETUP will be renewed.
• You can also patch multiple dimmer channels on the same unit key. For example, you can set a previously used
Unit start number in this option when patching other dimmers. If this is the case, the field will display in green, and
its DMX address will increase by 1 after it is patched. (see photo above).
• Press [Exit] to quit to LIVE SHOW.
