PTO SHEAR BOLT
IMPORTANT: If the PTO shear bolt breaks immediately shut down the tractor and replace the shear bolt.
1. The shear bolts used on this Schulte snow blower and mounting kits are either Grade 2 or Metric Grade
8.8. Refer to the illustrations for help in identification of these grades of bolts.
2. Specified shear bolts and their locations are listed below:
Auger: 3/8-16 UNC, 2" long, Grade 2
PTO Shaft: M10, 60 mm, Grade 8.8
NOTE: Both length and grade are important in this specification.
3. Remove the broken shear bolt and replace.
IMPORTANT: Tighten the 3/8" auger shear bolt to 31 ft./lbs. Tighten the M10 PTO shaft shear bolt to 34 ft./
lbs.
Occasionally apply grease to the shear plates.
IMPORTANT: Replacement of the shear bolt with one of any other grade or size will be considered an
unauthorized modification and the warranty will be void.
